Safer Play
1. Our Commitment
1.1 Sydney Casino exists for entertainment. Each spin, hand and bet costs money, and no game, strategy or run of luck can promise a win. Our aim is for play in our lobby to remain enjoyable, affordable and within your control.
1.2 Sydney Casino accepts players solely from regions where gambling is legal for them, and we follow Canadian requirements on age, identity checks and anti-money laundering. Nobody under 19 may play.
1.3 Every tool listed here is free of charge. All of them sit in your account settings, and you can activate any one without explaining why. Our team will never press you to remove a limit, stop a break or end an exclusion.
1.4 While an account is paused for cooling off or self-excluded, it receives no promotions, Sydney Rewards offers or VIP invitations. If our team notices patterns suggesting play is becoming harmful, we will reach out to you by email and may limit some features until we have talked with you.
1.5 A few habits help keep play in proportion:
- Decide what you can afford to spend before you open the lobby, and stop when it is gone.
- Treat what you spend as the cost of a night out, not as an investment.
- Never chase losses by raising your stakes or making extra deposits.
- Avoid playing while angry, low, tired or after drinking.
- Keep gambling alongside work, family, friends and other interests, never in place of them.
2. Self-Assessment
2.1 Our self-assessment quiz has a few short questions on your recent play, how much you spend and the role gambling has in your daily life. You can open it from your account menu whenever you like, and it is done in a few minutes.
2.2 Your answers give you a clear picture of whether your play is still in a healthy place. The result is for you. We do not use it for marketing, and taking the quiz never affects your bonuses or your Sydney Rewards status.
2.3 If your answers point to a risk, we suggest setting limits, taking a cooling-off period or contacting one of the free services listed in section 6.
3. Protecting Minors
3.1 Gambling at Sydney Casino is for adults 19 and over only. We complete identity (KYC) verification and a geolocation check before any deposit, so an account cannot be funded until we have confirmed who the player is and where they are.
3.2 Do not share your password, sign out at the end of each session and never store your login details on a device used by children or teenagers. Our 19+ Policy describes our age checks and the filtering tools open to parents in more detail.
4. How Limit Changes Take Effect
4.1 Any change that makes a limit stricter, such as a lower deposit limit or a shorter stake limit, applies instantly.
4.2 Asking for a higher limit, or for a limit to be removed, triggers a 24-hour wait before the change applies. The delay gives you room to think again, and the request can be withdrawn any time before it applies.
4.3 The same rule applies whether you make the change yourself or ask our team to make it for you.
5. Tools You Control
Deposit Limits
5.1 Choose a maximum deposit amount for a day, a week, a month or another period of your choice. Once you hit that amount, deposits are blocked until the period ends.
Wager Limits
5.2 Limit the total you are able to wager across every game within your chosen period. This applies to Popular slots, Jackpots, table games and Live Casino.
Stake Limits
5.3 Set the largest single bet you are willing to place. Any bet above that amount is declined, which keeps each round within your comfort zone.
Reality Checks
5.4 Set reminders to appear at an interval that works for you. Each one shows the length of this session so far and your total win or loss. From that screen, choose to keep playing, open your past activity or log out.
Time Alerts
5.5 Set a reminder for the total time you plan to spend in the lobby. Once that time is up, we notify you and the choice to stop or continue is yours.
Cooling-Off Period
5.6 You choose how long a time-out lasts: one day is the shortest option and six weeks is the longest. During the time-out your account stays locked, so signing in, adding funds and placing bets are not possible, and we pause all promotional messages. Once a time-out begins, it cannot be shortened and runs for the whole period you picked. When that period ends, your access is restored automatically and you do not need to do anything.
Self-Exclusion
5.7 For a longer time away, self-exclusion blocks your account for the period you choose. For as long as it lasts, we turn down any account application in your name, stop all marketing and send any available balance back to you. Self-exclusion cannot be cut short. We strongly advise pairing it with blocking tools such as Gamban or GamBlock.
Account Closure
5.8 If you simply want to stop using Sydney Casino, for whatever reason, you can request account closure at any time. We pay out any remaining balance and stop all marketing. If the reason is gambling harm, please say so and we will apply self-exclusion to the closure, with the same protections.
6. Free Help
6.1 Speaking with someone independent can make a real difference. These organisations and tools offer confidential support or blocking at no cost:
- Responsible Gambling Council
- ConnexOntario
- 211 Alberta
- Gamban / GamBlock, programs that stop your devices from reaching gambling sites and apps
6.2 There is no need to wait until you have a diagnosis or reach a crisis before asking for help. Being worried about your own play, or about someone close to you, is enough reason.
7. Contact

7.2 Messages with "Safer Play" as the subject line are handled first. The rules for accounts are in our Account Terms, and our Privacy Notice describes how we handle your information.
